I am fascinated by the work of Surreal artists, including the Magic Realists Yves Tanguy and Salvador Dali. I love the pink sky in Tanguy's painting, The Ribbon of Extremes.
In this painting, the scales of the Chinese red lacquer horse sculpture and the black high heel have been switched around. I wanted to see what it would be like to switch the scales of the objects when I put them together as an odd couple because of the horse's posture.
