In his book, The Geography of Nowhere, James Howard Kunstler described parking lots to be the places of nowhere. Parking lots are everywhere and continue to expand making the landscape look ugly and altogether the same. Although this particular parking lot in the drawing appears to be empty, it can go on for what may seem like miles. Where am I, the Twilight Zone? This drawing represents the relief of suddenly knowing where you are and finding your way again.
